According to the recent research, by using Almond in daily diet can help to reduce extra belly fat. According to the study, daily consumption of almonds works better and mitigates the risk factors of a number of heart diseases instead of a high carbohydrate muffin.

According to researcher Claire Berryman, from the Pennsylvania State University, He said that consuming almonds daily as snack is the simplest way to fight against the onset of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases.

The study was a randomized controlled study with a duration of 12 weeks. The researchers enrolled 52 middle-aged overweight adults who had high total and bad cholesterol.

During the study period, the participants were divided into two groups. One group ate daily snack of 42 gram of whole natural almonds while the other group ate a snack of banana muffin that delivered the same amount of calories. The participants were allowed to have meals and snacks within the required calorie count to maintain the body weight. The participants followed the diet for 6 weeks.

After 6 months, the researchers found that participants who consumed the diet containing the almond snack had significant reduction of belly fat when compared to participants who ate muffin snack. Participants on the almond diet also had reduced total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, non-HDL-cholesterol and other body fats.
